6 min read
Last edit: Nov 6, 2024
Slovenia is well-known for its beautiful landscapes — lakes, mountains, caves, and other natural attractions make this country perfect for adventurers and hikers. However, nature is not the only Slovenian distinctive “feature”. Slovenians love coffee — an average resident consumes 3 kg of coffee per year (at home). Another interesting fact is that in 2021 Slovenia imported around 22000 tons of coffee.
This love for coffee is reflected in a wide variety of coffee shops. Thus, we have already reviewed top coffee places in Maribor, as well as locations offering coffee to go in Ljubljana.
However, since Slovenians love drinking coffee at home, there is also a diversity of roasters selling single-origin coffee, blends, various coffee accessories, and so on. There are so many of them that making a choice can be challenging, but we are here to help. We have prepared a list of the best coffee roasters, so keep reading to dive into Slovenian roasting culture.
1. Banibeans
The Banibeans micro-roastery offers single-origin coffee from Costa Rica, Kenya, Colombia, and other locations. The coffees are sold only in beans and are suitable for filter brewing. Note that the roastery itself isn’t open to the public yet, but you can still experience their coffee at specific coffee shops. More information about the Banibeans history (and not only) is provided here.
